In an effort to make the female video game characters appear to be more lifelike, developers have introduced what has commonly become known as "Breast Physics'; a specific set of coding in the game designed to model the female chest. While the intent of the Breast Physics is to have the breasts behave in a lifelike manner, often the result is an exaggerated and comical effect that makes the breasts appear like they defy the laws of gravity and have a mind of their own.
Self proclaimed "card-carrying Breast Haver™" Patricia Hernandez wrote an article over on Kotaku about "How Video Game Breasts are Made (and Why They Can Go So Wrong)". In the article Patricia explores the history of the animated female breast in video games, from the introduction of Mai Shiranui's jiggling breast animation in Fatal Fury 2, to the over the top characters of Dead or Alive. She also delved deep into the techniques developers use to model the breasts, and why they haven't been able to get the physics quie right. Maybe with the extra processing power of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, someone can finally get those breasts to jiggle the way they are supposed to.
